The whole family can enjoy Hornbeam Lodge with space for everyone. As well as a stunning master bedroom with luxurious ensuite bathroom, the lodge has a double and a twin bedrooms, and a large spacious family bathroom.
The stunning living space is modern, bright and airy, with views out over woodland and Roadford Lake. Furnished and equipped to the highest standards, the lodge offers modern comfort and space for a couple, a family or friends to enjoy. Children are very welcome and a high chair and travel cot are available for family guests to use. Equally welcome is a well-behaved family dog, with water and food bowls in the lodge if needed.
Hornbeam Lodge, with its private parking for two cars, large patio and private hot tub, is nestled in a spacious spot in the exclusive gated Roadford Lake Lodges Park, surrounded by professionally landscaped gardens. Hornbeam, like all our lodges, is just a couple of minute’s walk away from the Park’s great amenities, such as the gymnasium, the dog wash and the EV charging bay.
And equally close is the spectacular Roadford Lake, with its woodland bursting with birds and wildlife. Woodland trails, the Roadford Lake Café and the amazing craft-designed children’s play area are all on your doorstep.

Open-plan sitting and dining room
The front door opens into the spacious open-plan sitting and dining room with views stretching out across beautiful woodland and Roadford Lake itself. The sitting room has two lovely comfortable sofas with plenty of cushions to snuggle into, all perfect for enjoying the large wall mounted Smart TV and Juice Sound Bar, so don’t forget your login details to use your Netflix or Amazon Prime account.
Different lighting options, a cosy rug and an electric wood-effect fire are perfect for relaxing on those chilly autumn or winter evenings. A variety of games, playing cards and books are in the sideboard to help you enjoy relaxing afternoons or evenings.
In the dining room a large extendable dining table and comfy chairs allows you to seat up to eight comfortably for a meal with family or friends. Sliding patio doors open onto the patio and hot tub, perfect for warm summer’s evenings.
Luxurious Kitchen
The beautiful modern kitchen opens into the sitting and dining room and has everything you will need or want. A large electric range oven, five-ringed gas hob and extractor hood will cater for a full house of family or friends. The fully equipped kitchen has a microwave oven, toaster, kettle and all the pans, dishes and utensils you need whether you are preparing and cooking a feast or fixing a quick snack! The kitchen has a modern fitted dishwasher and washing machine, together with a fridge, freezer and the holiday essential wine fridge!
All the morning essentials are provided: a teapot, a cafetiere and a moka express stovetop coffee maker – so don’t forget your coffee and tea! The kitchen has a full range of crockery and cutlery, including plastic ‘glasses’ perfect for enjoying a drink outside. A full set of plastic baby plates, cups and cutlery are available, as is the all-important highchair. If you’ve forgotten your dog bowl don’t panic as there is one in the kitchen you can use. A large two-compartment kitchen bin makes recycling in the park easier.
Master Bedroom and Ensuite
This beautiful master suite has a king size-bed, with two bedside tables and lamps. There is ample storage and hanging space in the fitted cupboards, where you will also find the hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Double sliding doors open from this room onto the patio and there is a remote-controlled tower fan for those warmer evenings. A wall-mounted Smart TV is set up for easy watching in bed!
Leading from the bedroom is the lovely ensuite bathroom with a glorious walk-in shower. Fitted with an electric towel rail, lighted cabinet mirror and under sink cabinet, there is plenty of hanging space and storage. Bath and hand towels are provided, and when booking you can order a spa pack of towelling robes and slippers to have the full hot tub spa experience.
Double and Twin Bedrooms, Family Bathroom
With views across woodland and the lake, a second double room has a double bed, two bedside tables and lamps. It has plenty of storage and hanging space in the fitted wardrobes. A wall-mounted Smart TV and remote-control tower fan are provided for your relaxation and comfort.
The third bedroom, also enjoying views across the woodland and lake, has two single twin beds each with its own bedside table and lamp. As with the other rooms, there is plenty of storage and hanging space in the fitted wardrobes, where you will find the highchair and travel cot. This bedroom also has a wall-mounted Smart TV and remote-control tower fan.
Across the hall from the double and twin bedrooms is the large, spacious family bathroom. This modern stylish bathroom has a large family bath with shower attachment, extensive fitted cupboards and a large electric towel rail so there’s plenty of hanging and storage space for all the family.
Bath and hand towels are provided, and at booking, you can order the spa pack to luxuriate in towelling robes and slippers.
Hot Tub and Views around the Lodge
The large south-facing patio runs the full length of the lodge and is opened onto by sliding patio doors from the dining room and the master bedroom. With your private hot tub one end and outdoor chairs, tables, parasol and BBQ on the other, you have everything you need to enjoy and spoil yourselves by relaxing and enjoying the outdoor life stylishly!
The BBQ stand can fit two disposable BBQs at a time and there are BBQ utensils in the kitchen – so pour a drink and fire up the BBQ, and if it gets too hot in the kitchen you can take a plunge in the hot tub!
Your large, private hot tub is heated all year round and has a wooden panelling surround to ensure privacy. There are steps to get in, hooks to hang up your towels and robes, and even a rubber duck to enjoy it with! So whether you’re enjoying a hot summer’s day relaxation outside or need to relax and soothe the body after a busy day of hiking, cycling or sailing, the hot tub is there for you to sink into all year round.
Hornbeam’s private double-parking bay is conveniently located close to the front door of the lodge.
Hornbeam Lodge is nestled in a spacious corner in the beautifully landscaped gardens of Roadford Lake Lodges Park. Planting of hedges, shrubs and wildflower gardens have all been carefully designed not only for aesthetics, but also to give you privacy, peace and quiet.
Around Roadford Lake Lodges Park
Hornbeam Lodge is found within the exclusive gated Roadford Lake Lodges Park. This small, quiet Park only has just over thirty privately owned luxury lodges, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens, incorporating open grassy areas, hedges, shrubs, wildflower meadows and a wildlife pond. The park owners’ vision of having a small exclusive park of the highest possible standard, in a most beautiful part of Devon, surrounded by nature and wildlife has become a reality.
After following a private drive you arrive at the Park Reception, office and gymnasium, and the automatic gates that lead to the park lodges. The friendly and helpful staff are onsite at reception during normal working hours. Other park amenities such as the EV charging bay and dog wash area are located near here and are only a couple of minute’s walk from Hornbeam Lodge.
Our lodges are located in the second of three park areas, each only having nine neighbours sharing the area. Hornbeam lodge is nestled in a spacious site in the lower half of this area, with views extending over the wildlife pond, the woodland surrounding Roadford Lake and the lake itself.
With the park being gated (a code is needed to gain entry at night), well lit and gated paths to the lake, you can have the peace of mind that your children are safe to enjoy our lodges and this beautiful park. The Roadford Lake Lodges Park is friendly and professional and there to help you; they can be contacted at the park reception during working hours or by phone outside of normal working hours. Each lodge is monitored to ensure that guests do not disturb each other and that quiet times are respected.
Pathways lead from our lodges and the park, through private gates, down to the trails of Roadford Lake, from where you can walk or cycle along the lake’s extensive trail network and enjoy all the amazing amenities and activities that Roadford Lake has to offer.
